Murrieta Genomics, LLC, the Southern California genomic sequencing business incubator, will see its first incubator company debut at one of the country’s largest and most respected healthcare conferences. EpigeneticsRX, a company dedicated to preventive medicine guided by epigenetic information, is being featured as a healthcare innovator at the World Health Care Congress 2018. The conference, featuring many of the world’s leaders in healthcare, is currently being held at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington DC through May 2.

Deb Hubers of EpigeneticsRx

“We are proud and honored to present EpigeneticsRX to the world at one of the more prestigious healthcare events in the country,” stated Mr. John Powers, a Founding Principal of Murrieta Genomics. “Deb Hubers has created an exciting new healthcare paradigm focused on promoting health and preventing disease by looking at how lifestyle choices, the environment and other factors affect a person’s genetic makeup. Using this information, doctors can now help their patients make decisions that can positively impact their health and possibly prevent future disease.”

“This has been a labor of love,” said Ms. Debra Hubers, founder and CEO of EpigeneticsRX. “Our mission is to empower and inspire providers and patients in optimizing genetic potential through precise, personalized protocols that positively impact patients’ health and future generations. Murrieta Genomics has been great to work with and has had a strong positive impact on our growth curve.”

EpigeneticsRX was chosen to participate in WHCC2018 as a healthcare innovator. Both Hubers and Powers will be attending the conference, demonstrating to attendees the power behind epigenetics and the impact this can make on future health. The 15th Annual World Health Care Congress convenes decision makers from payer, provider, pharmaceutical, government, and solutions organizations to inspire partnerships and defragment the current health care system, with over 1500 attendees, 350 speakers and 15 tracks.

Murrieta Genomics is currently in the process of building a state of the art next generation genomic sequencing facility in Murrieta, California. With proximity to three University of California research centers, the University of Southern California, the University of San Diego, and eight California State Universities, the incubator seeks to attract leading researchers in the genomics field who wish to bring discoveries to market.

A member of the Southern California Biomedical Council (SoCalBio), a trade association that serves biotech communities in the six counties that comprise the Greater Los Angeles region, the firm is actively networking with the companies, professionals and suppliers that can help genomic startups get off on the right foot. Murrieta Genomics enjoys strong relationships with local healthcare providers, small business development centers, SCORE, and economic development leaders in Riverside County.

John Powers of Murrieta Genomics

“The understanding of genetics, DNA, gene expression and how they affect health are really just beginning to be understood,” continued Mr. Powers. “Researchers need access to next generation sequencing technology in a collaborative environment where they can prove out their science while building a viable business model. Murrieta Genomics offers the technology, science and business mentors that can help turn research into commercial enterprise.”

While healthcare is a focus of Murrieta Genomics, the company views the burgeoning field of genomics impacting agriculture as well, and sees applications of the technology in consumer products, forensics, and the veterinary field. “Genomics hold the key to so many dynamic new business models,” Powers added. “We have had conversations with entrepreneurs in all of these areas and believe that many of the companies that come out of our incubator will have a significant impact in a number of industries.”
